CORPORÉITÉ
(Physicality)

These works were brought together in the spring of 2020 to form an installation in the HBK Gallery, Braunschweig.
Contains different works on canvas or paper, but also an attempt to combine the two-dimensional with the third dimension.
Wooden forms were painted and assembled into large wall sculptures. If you stand face-to-face with the works, you hardly notice the three-dimensionality; if the perspective changes, the picture mounted a few centimeters from the wall also changes. The work seems to glow from within because the parts are painted on the back with fluorescent paints. The reflection of which on the wall makes the sculpture float and gives it a special physicality.
The French "corporéité" means exactly that: "physicality". This is not only visible in the three-dimensional works, but it also relates to the subjects of the other parts. Their rough, provocative eroticism and symbolism are based
on childhood memories. This can be the disturbance and the new kind of excitement and physicality when secretly watching the first porn film or physicality as a mixture of bodies with the tactile and tasty attraction
from the kiosk of the local outdoor pool, the "Ripple fries".
During a group exhibition the installation in Braunschweig‘s public Bürgerpark outdoor swimming pool, this physicality returns to its origins.
